Dr. Kane knew from a young age that he had a gift to help others. Family and friends naturally came to him to share their problems, as well as look to him for solutions. As he studied psychology at the University of Florida, Dr. Kane realized he had found his calling, pursued his dream in graduate school and began to work with individuals, couples and families in private practice.
After seven years in private practice in Broward County, Florida, he decided it was time to create his own unique office that fit his personality and where clients could change their lives. In 1999, he founded The Family Therapy Center in Broward County where he and his team have been transforming lives and saving marriages.
Dr. Kane has been happily married to his college sweetheart for 28 years. They have 2 sons, 20- and 25-years-old.
The couples he works with often ask if he has a “perfect” marriage. He tells them that his marriage is “perfectly imperfect.” He believes all marriages have their share of “ups and downs” and it’s less about perfection and more about navigating the challenging times, developing strong problem-solving skills that lead to effective solutions and, most importantly, learning how to heal and being willing to forgive.
